Lost without your luminescence in the dead of night.

Levels of vulnerability ascend when in your glow,
But once your light has flickered out,
I'll have no place to go.

That's exactly what you did,
We let that light wink out.
Now I plummet to the ground and I'll be dead without a doubt.

Interminably delirious and turned the other way,
All that I could hope for is another shining ray.

My tiny little against this vast expanse of sea.,
Without the twinkling lighthouse,
It's indefinate where I'd be.

Formidable rock breaks threaten to sink my drifting ship.
Feral waves come crashing down in attempts to make it tip.

Please save me from the storm.
Carry me back home.
Guide me back to land.
I can't be left alone.

Sullen and despondent,
I crawl back in my shell.
I close my eyes and disappear from this place of living hell.

My heart has gone up in flames,
In flames behind my breast.
I failed to keep you in my grasp.
We failed like all the rest.

Haunted by this burning,
A burning in my chest.
Gasping in a desperate attempt to try and catch my breath.

My darkest hours at its peak,
It's closing in but I cannot reach.
