From early dawn into the night.
For I am mostly left all alone.
A virtual shut in within my home.
And no one really seems to care.
For no one invites me, anywhere!

All that I have is paper and pen.
So I can write of what might have been.
And so I try hard not to dwell,
On why I must live in my lonely hell.
Why haven’t I put guns to my head?
I couldn’t sit and write, if I was dead.

Four walls are closing in on my chest.
I must unclasp my buttoned vest.
I suffocate in a panic attack.
A sharp pain shoots from front to back.
My eyes grow dim, there is no light.
All I can do is sit and write.

I write and sit and sit and write,
From early dawn into the night.
