I didnt recognize him. He just came up and hugged me. I thought he was a stranger. [bodytext] => Those days

Those days when dad hugged me everyday. Those days when I always had a smile on my face. His house was my secret get away place
Then my heart was broken when he went away. For years I never even saw his face. I felt like my thoughts were in a display case. Feeling like life is a baseball game but I’m only at second base. Those days when I’d cry all night. Stuck behind, staring at the rear end light. Gonna find love if it takes all night. My feelings are trapped behind the gates of a bomb site. Those days when I missed my dad but my mother s all I had. Everything was going bad until I picked up a Kroger’s ad. Down three aisles I walked until I came upon the aisle with the chicken stalk. Three steps and a look of my eyes, my dad was there and it was a surprise. My little brother and my little sister, all these years and I never kissed her, tears fell because I missed her. Those days left and came again. To the lord I screamed amen. I was amazed at the ablaze. A phrase that portrays those days.
