The chains pull hard my grip is lost,
Others receive the bounty I pay the cost,
Night after night I search for redemption,
Battle for closure but find retention,
The world is round while I remain flat
Inches from the pitching machine lacking the bat,
Walking head held high getting pelted with rain,
Body cold and numb I feel no pain,
My spirit and mind have lost all emotion,
Why are some given a stream and others an ocean?

Chains began to tear my sinewy wrists,
