It was only just the prologue
that I penned with expedient ease,
just the introduction
to explain what needed to breathe.
I don't really know what happened

I still fight the hopelessness
even as I am attracted to it,
to find something new to say.
And in the midnight hour
where everything sleeps but me,
there sits something beautiful,
something tragic,
something of a mystery. We cannot go back to things
dead and laid to rest.
yet I try, everyday to resurrect
the things that exploded from my chest.
It was only just the prologue

I still fight the hopelessness
even as I am attracted to it,

And in the midnight hour
where everything sleeps but me,
there sits something beautiful,
something tragic,
something of a mystery.
