You lie cold and I feel dead

Without your smile the sun is ice

Without your touch the flowers wither

Your touch would bring the sun

There's a pounding in my head

Paid the ultimate price

The memory makes me shiver

Eyes off the road

Hazy recollection

Seen the photos

Read the reports

Still smell the burning

Feeling the warmth of blood

Hearing screaming all around

A molten hell on earth

You held my gaze as you passed away

I held you in my arms as you passed away

But no-one can understand

I died that day too
