Can you bring me
This new year?

Not any, I'd wager
But I'm no betting man
I have seen your potential
In such a short span

Though I am a warrior
And know nothing but war
I'm ready for a new batch
Of disasters to explore

I can dump my mind
And my heart
But still not manage
A fresh new start

But I'm determined to try
This Time
Around the bend, I swear
I will make you
My newest friend

You can't deny me
For forever, you know
You can paint me in Black
But not dot out my glow

This year will differ
I will show you
That I have learned
I'm my own Black and Blue

Outsmarting my smugness
Taking back what is mine
And realizing that
The Past is not my Time

What new fear
