Lost in the Sadness

My heart empty and alone,

Soul covered in the darkness of the moment

It’s been days now that I haven’t heard your voice

Eyes Swollen and red from the endless flow of tears

Body growing weak from lack of nourishment

I lay alone in our bed

Searching for comfort in your scent

Wanting nothing more than to feel your arms around me

To hear you whisper I love you softly in my ear

But each time I wake, I am alone

The silence broken only by my cries

I struggle for the strength to go on

To continue to breathe

But as one moment passes into the next

I find myself giving in to the sadness

Slipping into the loneliness

Losing sight of the light

Searching for understanding without any answers

Trying to make sense out of things that make no sense

Confused, deserted and alone

I am lost in the sadness
