A Million Gallons of Urine

Contributed by jason_robert_britt on Monday, 17th March 2003 @ 03:50:58 PM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

December's chill does not compare
To empty nights when you aren't there
Abandoned me alone and cold
Dealt my hand I choose to fold
The sparrow's song could not bring cheer
A million suns won't dry the tears
A million knives could not cut holes
As gaping wide as is my soul

My life's a cage
Restraints hold tight
My life's a stage
Exit left or right
The act is over
You don't have to play
Just piss on me
Like the rest walk away

Decayed forest sprouts from one spot
A million worms can't eat the rot
A million leeches found no blood
A million pints lost in the flood
A million needles found no vein
A million pills won't ease the pain
A million knives could not cut holes
As gaping wide as is my soul

My life's a cage
Restraints hold tight
My life's a stage
Exit left or right
The act is over
You don't have to play
Just piss on me
Like the rest walk away

I played the fool
in your game of temptation
Rolled the dice twice
and crapped out our relations
Fell off the wagon
and threw up my elation
Covered in piss
I am your masturbation

Thank you for your kind words, I am flattered that you find it one of your favorites. With all the emotion I put into my writting I am often afraid that no one will like them.... that I might go too far with words. I appreciate your feed back and will be looking foward to reading poetry that you post on this site as well. Many blessings - jason

Once in a while I read or hear something and say "I wish I had done that". I couldnt help but hear Cobain playing his guitar somewhere in the distance as I read this.
