uncle sams gift

Contributed by ladyfawn on Friday, 12th November 2004 @ 10:12:14 AM in AEST
Topic: war

last time your mother looked into your eyes they silently spoke
to return to her again but now she cannot even touch your hair.
chosen to be the right hand of the stars as eagles fly over alaska
i would like to take away your darkness and return your lifesun.
three months turned into forgotton pancakes and still you were
away from everyone and everything you loved more than sand.
dead pumpkins are everywhere and an upcoming feast you
will not attend, sad eyes tearful in memory of your beauty.

on your coffin kid, you have a draped red, white and blue
for your bravery and courage that is what america gave you.

beautiful and heartfelt... I hope you didn't
actually lose someone though. In my opinion,
America s hould have stayed away from Iraq
it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that
Iraq is worse off than it was 3 years ago and
that the situation is deteriorating more and
more every day. Once again a beautiful poem.

So many have died for a war away from their home, I hope in the end it was worth their sacrifice, I know honor plays a big part, but seen to many in the past forgotten by time.
Cool poem.

Ladyfawn
There will always be war and rummers of war.
The world groans.
These things must happen
Until "HE" comes
On the right hand of the "Father"
I see your sons

Lady fawn
I sincerly hope you haven't lost your son.
If you have I proudly thank you.

Sinned

As all have said before me...this is a very heartfelt piece. The cost of war for us all is much to great to bare.
