[hometext] => One quality famous people share - they were not afraid to be different.
[bodytext] => The clockmaker called Eric had a son named NE-1.
Who helped fix worn out cuckoos and clocks that wouldn’t run.
All the cuckoos in the shop told NE-1 each day,
how sad it was that “cuckoo” was all that they could say.
A lifetime is a longtime, and NE-1 agreed,
that having just one word to say was boring as could be.
So he gave one clock a music box with greetings it could say.
The owner took his cuckoo home and brought it back next day!
“This cuckoo clock gave us a shock when it popped out its door.
It sang a lullaby and doesn’t cuckoo anymore!
The clockmaker was so upset that smoke came out his ears.
“My son will fix this right away! NE-1 come here!”
“No, no the owner pleaded, I brought this box of clocks,
so they can all have rhymes to play, and a music box,
like Wake Up songs, and Jingle Bells, and Happy Elfin Day!”
NE-1 feels very special in his fathers shop.
Giving cuckoos lots to say when their heads pop up!
Elfins come from every shire to have cuckoos revised.
No one knows what they will say; it’s always a surprise!
NE-1 has changed his name, so has his father’s shop.
If you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to make a stop
at “Erick’s Son’s World-Famous Elfin Talking Cuckoo Shop”!

A most delightful story and poem for sure!
I have a German made Cuckoo clock, it/'/s a twenty one year old I bought just before my first child was born.
Funny, it cuckoo/'/s every hour and you forget it makes a sound. I just noticed its voice the other day since my wife and I are now cocooned working from home. Actually it was someone on a conference call who mentioned how beautiful the cuckoo sounded. Sadly it had lost track of time and is was about 5 minutes late. I quickly fixed it after the call.
Peace! |
