My first post in a while, I wish it were under better circumstances. Hopefully Corona Virus will soon be a memory [bodytext] => Draped in uncertainty, the world echoes in the unknown
Asks questions where there is no answer
Seeking guidance where the path is obscured
The fabric of society, torn, begins to unravel
An army, unready for the fight, draws up diminished battalions
Scared minds resist logic, sensibility ebbs away
We stumble blindly into the future
Paralysed by that we cannot see
Those who we follow cannot lead
We are all painted with the same fear
Waiting for a solution borne from hope more than calculation
Time marches, has no regard for us now
Puppets to a plague that blankets out all we once knew
Man, the wounded animal, has nowhere to run
Takes refuge inside four walls that now become prison
Watching the world from a distance, waiting for absolution
While the songbird sings to empty audience
And the cold wind blows against the quiet of the day
The storm will take what it can, but not all
For now we are passengers, we can only count the ghosts [comments] => 5 [counter] => 157 [topic] => 48 [informant] => puppy_dog_eyes [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

i think there are a myriad of sociological
experiments from the past that could
be re-examined as to their validity
just about now -
someone said, when the uncertainty
meter went through the roof.
we have enough food for the season,
the end of winter and spring at least,
And we are stuck, not going no place
too far, in the interim
All of us may think just now.
But we are together in the collective
more than we have been in a long long
time.
And maybe we already were unraveled
already, and just did not see it
as so.
We have to be more careful
a lot more careful for the time
being now.
And we have to think more
and appreciate more
about what we consider
are the most important things
in life.

And ghosts are real
they live within our souls
I would say that if you ever
truly lived you somehow
knew this truth
about ghosts,
deep down

in your truest heart

Peace!

Sad but accurate. It might take awhile, but we will get through this. As long as we all take precautions and do it all together, we/'/ll be ok.

This was a great write.

Damn, and this was posted only one day into the pandemic...you caught a glimpse of the future... Never lose sight of the bigger picture. Something like this may expose the cracks in society, but it also shows the glue.
So which are you? 😉

(I personally love the stillness and resiliency). Reflection and pause are important to growth and endurance. Stay strong.
