[hometext] => My friends I see daily are family and my family are friends. None of the past matters. None of the future worries me.
[bodytext] => Life has a way of softening out
When age takes over and laugh lines appear
Life/'/s old tragedies have lost their clout
Gone too, the things one used to fear.
Firelight burns to warm the room,
Comforting glow in the winter/'/s light
The taste of a good sauteed mushroom
Decorates supper late here tonight.
A visit with friends at noon today,
Missed them much and gathered some hugs,
Just us old folks in our merry way
Ate cinnamon rolls and raised our mugs.
We on the edge of life live easy
Not worriless, but we worry less
Take life as it comes and easy peasy
Whether short life or long we may be blessed.
I thought about times gone by today
How easily terrified in younger times
I used to be, where trauma held sway
Seeming recovery turned on a dime.
Bullets I dodged, and through trauma survived
Sometimes avoiding the scene of the crime,
Lost my attachment to things here revived,
When something is free, it is hard to discard
(No matter how little it cost at the time,)
So this is a shout-out to my younger self,
Go on quite quickly to finding your dreams
Leave as soon as you can, jump right off the shelf
Don/'/t wait until trouble has robbed you of steam.
Thus to the present I raise high my glass
Cherish my friends and my pets by my side;
They know me here as a most friendly lass
Faith has found me a place to abide.

The thing that rings home for me is the lines
"We on the edge of life live easy
Not worriless, but we worry less"
Ive seen that in my own life, its a thing that I cant wait to have regularly. lol
Still I know that attitude only comes when youve gained experience so XD All in all I like this poem. Keep it up ^^ |

great. when I was a young penniless person,
with no real promise, somehow my mind and thoughts were still filled with joy,
as though I do not know exactly why; wish I could look back upon those days and figure it all out, but I just cannot,
it was a long time ago,
but it still makes me smile with hope.
we want to smile with hope. It is hard, is that not what she said, we hoped, we wanted her, mother Earth
to show us the way, we had all the sense
to wake up everyday to do something important,
something that we knew was important,
something that would we would find invigorating
and filled with intrigue and excitement,
at the very least.
Peace!
