Blinded by fallen lights gleaming if high tombstones that scrapped the sky. Lost in a sea of mindful ignorance, just another empty hat on a cold concrete floor.

My vision was small, to give was my only gift. Walking with devil’s with sulphur seeping through my breast. To sitting with fallen angels, drunk of sour blood of a savior we once followed.

In my blindness I sought to harden my heart, to keep it from obtaining scars that humanity dealt in a game of chance.
I played the joker so well, that I stopped listening to the minstrels singing our song. Unity left in abandoned fields stick between yesterday’s news. My legs battered and broken as I crawled looking for an escape. Brushes with death so frequently that he knows me by name. Yet for hell I cant remember his.

I tore out my heart, let it rot in glass pipe addiction to find emptiness within four walls. Watching those I love follow in my footsteps, I played the fool even better.

As I picked myself up and washed the filth that was tossed in the side of the road, I found that abandoned muscle. Still as soft as the day I tossed it away. I placed in firmly in its mantle, in between the memories of forgotten lyrics the dead hum so well.

I may not be the child i once was, the grey in my beard shows that reality everyday. Yet my heart is the same, those same Angel’s watch from above. Lifting my spirits with raised glasses. We may have forgotten what unity stands for, yet if isn’t too late to brush off old beliefs.

To come together as words on a page that touches your soul. That gives you light in darkened times.
For without each other we are only high fences and strangers in the dark.
