I pledge allegiance
to the country in which I am from
I stand strong with a band of brothers
to all persecution I am numb

I served my country by choice
earned pride that cannot be taken away
I am ready to stand up and fight
on any given day

My brothers, sisters, and I
all forged together as one
We shall protect our land each day
prepared to make the enemies run

Many of us may be getting older
but don’t count us out of the equation yet
We all stand to protect America
that is something you can bet

I honor the flag
show respect to it and our national anthem too
It’s more than I can say for the snowflakes
as they burn it in front of me and you

So, I pledge allegiance to America
the country in which I was born and free
I am prepared as always
attack America and my patriotism is not the only one you will see

To all my veteran brothers and sisters
let us be united more than ever before
Our country is being sabotaged from within
we need to walk the traitors to the door

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
