unseen by others
do you not tremble
when you feel
behind your eyes
that slow
heart felt pain
of dissolution
that has been creeping
along the dying roots
of wishfull thinking
that was desperately
trying to grow
in barren soil
ignoring
your doubts and fears
in those days months and years
while invisioning a garden
that you/'/ve grown
working your heart
to the bone
for that deep inner sigh
of two into one
that would bring
an unbroken rhythm
to your life
but dissolution
and failed promises
would not
leave you alone
as you gazed upon a face
that brings you
no peace
just shadows that lay
in your bed
within reach
and when that day
finally dawns
with that that
sad simple fact
you and your heart
cannot survive
a life
built on lies
bitter and twisted
you will become
barren
like the the shadow
you tried to love

Deep within
unseen by others
do you not tremble
when you look
into your eyes
the road
that you have traveled
through the
burning garden
of your pain
along the edge
of your despair
the abyss
in the valley
of cold
sudden loneliness
where vultures
dressed as friends
roost on skeletal trees
waiting
to feed their wants
and your
emotional needs
the minute
you fall
to your knees
yet
you staggered stumbled
and screamed
refusing
to emotionally bleed
as you gather
whats left
on this
barren ground
pieces
of your sanity
with aching
trembling fingers
with painfull tears
bluring your sight
you lovingly
stitch back together
your heart that survived
the cold dark
lonely nights
yet
through all the suffering
though all the scars
that cross
your weary heart

You Shine

deep with this holding on to so many thoughts.
I was thinking about those who give and
yet see how much some, due possibly,
to constraints that they utilize in order to
live with themselves, take far too much.
But instead of giving up, the giver continues
giving on, and by doing so, they shine
even when no one mentions as much.
Like a puzzle, bits and pieces of
one persons soul, bleeding into
many others and someday becoming
bright.
of course I could be wrong.
I love because it seems to be free verse
written extemporaneous, perhaps, almost
off of nothing.

Something to go back to, this is a great write!
Peace!

Whoa, I was hit by an emotionally intense tidal wave! An excellent depiction of anguish here. I’m grateful that the last line reveals a bit of hope and light on the matter. A story about a survivor. Great work, God bless,

Deidra
