big heart
what are you always crying about?
“nothing’s wrong”
she says
feels alive but then it fizzles out

something restless stirs
looks at you, tells you you’re hers
you’d never know there’s room inside for the biggest black hole
‘cause she feels so much
but then she just stares outside
holding on so tight to the fear that she’ll never be whole

pretty girl
you’d say
but she hates herself inside and out
too thin, and
too fat
a million things she could do without

something angry screams
always caught between extremes
but if you look hard enough to see past the blinding glare
to gentle pieces
a heartrate that increases
sees that look in your eyes, tells her pain “I don’t **** care”

something quiet speaks
each time her lips touch your cheek
the war inside is never won, but the panic settles
‘cause she sees it all
coming down like glitter falls
so just for tonight, she’ll shine as bright as precious metal [comments] => 4 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 61 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles )

restlessness, inner turmoil, sometimes it/'/s so intense we forget others are going through the same thing...or maybe we notice but just don/'/t care. It/'/s good that you can find occasional peace...or at least the illusion there of.

there is something inside the glorious human
heart, or this mind of hers,
it is not new, or old,
but they say true, if one
could be lucky to explore,
or unlucky enough to feel
sad and feeling left astray
I would say I love you
to my daughter, only
because I know it is true
I would say it in a psalm
for her to read again
and again whenever
she felt blue

and all the rest
that could be cared
for or about

I wish I knew
how help
because I would

this poem reminds me
of my daughter

she is pretty,
smart, brave
and alive
with immense
curiosity
that is contagious
on a good day

well written!
thank you!
Peace!
