Just how much you made this home
The laughter, the tears
The love that’s constant in your eyes
Calming your worries and fears
Wishing I could slow down the years
That come and go too quickly
Trying not to blink afraid of what I’m missing
And this isn’t fair
I wish I could just hold time still
Bending it to my will
Though I’m torn, Because I want more
I want to keep you young
But see who you grow to become
So Ill take it just a day at time
Cherish the memories
Keep the moments on rewind
Like an album in my mind
And my only wish
Is that you own find your own happiness [comments] => 3 [counter] => 128 [topic] => 23 [informant] => welleyedo [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FamilyPoems )

you know what, just today I saw this guy who looked
like old Neil Young, and I took a second look,
and then I saw another, tall guy with black hair
with a hat just walking kind of hunched over,
and then I thought about why I was looking,
like in my youth, just why was I looking because
when I was young times were tough, and I was
mixed up and I did not see clearly what I see
now, not that I know now enough, that much is impossible I thought even when I was young
It was the way you wrote down how much you thought
you wished we could all keep our youth,
and yet when I was young I always wondered about
the older folk, and what they thought, as if they
somehow knew something. Nobody is a one trick pony
if they live long enough.
and there is nothing wrong with growing old. Anything that ever lived will someday die.
And you know if you lived as long as I, you lived through a lot of mistakes, we played in a band, I had a guitar
that I painted blue, it made it sound better, once the frets were worn down a bit, perhaps it made it easier for my
already calloused finger tips to move the notes
and so now I can see a pattern I did not see
before.
You write the truth, and you might have seen all the lies before, and you are a bit wiser now,
and the youth you wish for me and you to keep,
is the youth we both wish to bestow
to the young, in a way so that they can understand
what you thought
it is true, it comes to you without even thinking
and although it seems long, to me it appears to be
compressed and simple.

Great poem.
I hope you stay young, forever young

btw. it has to come from your own words
to feel real when ever you write a poem.
And you did write a great poem.
I just wanted to post a song by Neal Young
written by Bob Dylan, just so you could
see that it does not always work out great.
singing someone elses song.
still it is okay and kind of cool.
come on down to my house Neil Young
we will play ping pong and then make some music
and shoot the breeze, and talk about climate change
and human rights.

I just guess that/'/s what I was looking for.
just by random chance
people write their best lyrics
like shuffle board, of what is that game
that is big in Canada, where they allow sweepers,
oh, curling.
I was thinking what if they allowed heaters.
people below the ice with portable bunsen burners
melting the ice in certain places in order to make the rock slide faster or stop on a dime.
just a thought.
