there is no fear

year after year

you are my safest place
your hands, your skin, your face
I’ve been in love with you since last summer
there is no one like you
no one else who would do
I’m in love with the way you love me too

the life we make
our give and take
golden daybreak
we’re wide awake

these things I have to face
I can endure with grace
because I know you’re always on my side
got my back, I got yours
so no one’s keeping score
and I know in the end I’ll be okay

so I will write
on darkest nights
of love so bright

love used to be so fleeting
something so defeating
after all this time you still make me smile

at all one who has this
