I feel the chill deep in the bones of all my empty spaces
the sunlight gets so filtered
that I can’t even see it
and maybe I could find it
if I could walk that far

but I’ve been getting by on just enough, keeping myself small
and keeping quiet so no one knows I’m carrying it all
and I know how far I’ve gone
but the road goes on and on
you know as well as I do
it never really ends

so if you broke me down into all my little pieces
took it all apart and studied all my bends and creases
you’d be peeling layers back
‘til your fingertips bled black
and the sun set far below
our shadows swallowed whole

so just like haunted houses keep their doors boarded up tight
I’ll keep those pieces safe beneath my ultraviolet light
don’t go scratching at those walls
or scaling steep waterfalls
I’ll just meet you on the shore
these parts of me are yours [comments] => 3 [counter] => 140 [topic] => 32 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

A beautiful way to reflect on our privacy for our moods and lives, especially the ending imagery
Keep in mind the people who will listen to you when you feel compelled to share. Especially when they offer condolences because few really try to dare.

I hope some day you find the type of person that you/'/ll be able and willing to share that part of your self. I/'/m hoping day by day that I can do the same.

-Mark

ahh you truly captured the concept
of letting others know do not probe to deep
because I am still trying to find myself...

this vast array of the spectrum of light
you speak of,
some people will tell you they had this
dream where they floated off into space
further and further unafraid the further
they went

I know I did, but never did I know
what it meant

they wear shades, the true test
is the shade of color emitted
through the light filter
you can see this in their smile

when you wear sunglasses
when you sleep

and when you dream
And then, there is this amazing
hymn to the silence

which makes your thought
concentrate more
I thought, because
it is after all a vacuum in space

something so much different than here.
Peace!
