[hometext] => A musing on the paths of life we take based on our choices
[bodytext] =>
I didn’t grasp the green shoot, which
in youth, was mine by right.
Now it’s beyond my fingertips,
indeed, well out of sight.
I was always on my tippy-toes,
grasping that unearned.
I missed the shoot, the leaves and all,
such a bitter lesson learned.

As children we very seldom see the value of things
that are right in front of us. We actually hold other
things more valuable which others deem questionable.
As we get older that which we overlooked is no
longer within our reach, as you brilliantly said. I think
this is why so many of us wish we could go back to
the time of our innocence and ignorance...only
knowing then what we know now. Bitter lessons
learned and regrets sadly are one in the same.
I found your piece brilliant. You sir are likewise
an awesome poet.

I/'/m not so sure I know exactly what this poem is about.
Here I think we say " out of the gate".
I like what Rich said and concur.
This poem brings to mind so many childhood thoughts I care not to remember. I/'/m not so sure I could relive my childhood again.
I know I wouldn/'/t want to.
Thanks for making me face things I/'/d rather not. Got me thinking.
There/'/s always regrets I suppose. But I can only change the now.
Great writing and topic. Great poetry is magic and that is what we have here. |

Nicely written has the internal present within the soul and questions asked yet unanswered. We do reach for that which might not be grasped we know of its presence and feel is belongs to us.
The only thing I would change is by dropping the /'/such a/'/ in the last line for a smoother read. Well Done |

I dig the way this flows
had my full attention
as I glided on the winds
of this flow
well done... |
