Ive come to realize that those "waves" are usually
just giant rolling swells.
"My long lost love has reappeared.
Now its time for me to disappear"
They always show up at the most inopportune times
and our "Exit Stage Right" always is blocked by one
thing or another. Our disappearing acts are always
thwarted. Reality always tend to remove the "rose
colored glasses" of love and reveal its true colors.
Not saying that love is an enemy just more of a "ball
and chain" that helps direct us into adulthood.
Ive come to notice that you and Jaye can say more in
fewer words than I can (lol)
Great piece my friend

Rich

How nice to be mentioned in such esteemed company.
When confronted with an old love that was gut wrenching to extricate from our lives....RUN!
Your poem reminds me of such a person...I had no control. My only hope was to exit and quickly.
Sometimes that is the best plan when logic fails to serve us. And as you conclude...the best we can do is cope.
Well said James. You read my mind.

I play the guitar, and I draw with charcoal
upon a pastel paper that holds, and not because
anything I ever do is ever good enough to hold onto.
I guess I just don/'/t care enough like I should.
I guess it is the cold blood that runs through my soul,
that helps me forget and helps me live.
I am tough for my friends.
Peace!

//This person is a pessimist. That person is an optimist. I`m a realist so I can really relate to "living in reality
Has helped me to cope"

Thank you for that. Thanks for this poem.
