In the beginning
with not one in the room,
nary a zygote, bereft of womb,
spring from the nothing,
nothing we know,
though upon self-awareness
theory/'/s sprouted to grow.
A god for the water,
the grass, and the horse,
a god for making others of us;
procreation, of course.
But many gods became such a chore,
so along came The One,
now no need for more.
This One, the answer to all the unknowns,
so conveniently stored
in one ancient tome.
All that’s required for eternal bliss
is to close one’s mind
and to logic, dismiss.
Rules to this club,
from The One, as they tell
is believe without evidence
or go straight to hell. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 120 [topic] => 7 [informant] => invierno [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => HumorPoetry )

Much to think about here. Very creative indeed.
This scenario would work well in the twenty first century
where nobody has time for their fellow man.

Very thought provoking. I never looked at it this way...
Of course you are going to hell for this :)
Bravo!

There is evidence if you`re open to the signs. I believe but not like I`m supposed to. Got my own opinions. So freaking many opinions of faith on this subject.

Really a great poem. I think you`re a genius because your mind seems so advanced over us commoners.

I must apologize, however. I didn`t get the humor.

Take care, Mr. Invierno

Believing without seeing is faith. There are so many
things about us, the world around us and the space
beyond us that we cannot explain. To think that
something as complex as every living and non-living
thing just on earth not to mention everything in the
vast universe that surrounds us just happened to
come into existence just by chance is a pretty crazy
notion. Only an omnipresent being with infinite
knowledge could create everything that even the
greatest minds in history have given themselves
headaches trying to wrap their heads around
things that we will never understand and come
close to figuring out.
Brilliant piece of writing and something that can
kickoff a never-ending conversation and debate :)
