if you have
any brain cells
on active duty
your gonna wish
that they were dead
for now
your on a path
that you will soon
come to dread
Every Dot
that you see
you will have to connect
and as the picture grows
the pain seeps down
to your bones
for deep down within
you know
it was you
that chose to live
your life

Here is a shout out to a life pronounced half empty. It is a universal pastime to find fault with those who fall below the standards of our fondly held beliefs.
It is difficult to inspire those we have condemned. But I respect that this poem was not intended to be happy or motivational. Your write remains faithful to that theme, and reflects your agenda commendably.

so it was
the navy was not so
bad, better than
the marines, or the
army,
shot in the arm,
to march off,
with no hair,
sweet nothin/'/
better than being
poor, how else
could you ever
see the world,
and ride in a jet plane
you aint got nothin
at all,
trying hard to smile
listening to music
here,
when you could
be taking me for a ride,
"down by the river",
"I shot my baby"

Peace!
