that i think
that have no words
that i can speak
and for that
i dismiss them
with a blink
of my eyes
pulling back
those tears
that threaten
to cry
upon a mask
that i hold
in fear
of understanding

the menace,
the everything that
is / without any escape/
but why...
the aperture so unrelenting
and no escaping from the
damage that has been done
a cry in the dark,
when no one is listening
terrible wrongs, mental illness,
one kid beaten to extreme
grows to beat to make things
right, there is no other way
the short fuse you sit
and learn about in a circle
distant as a child,
such memory
