Jot Or Tittle

Contributed by invierno on Tuesday, 29th January 2019 @ 10:29:25 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

I shall go as all have gone,
to ash and air, to sea or earth.
And all I know, all I’ve learned,
is but a spark between
my death and birth.
These words shall stay,
my simple truths at least to me,
though perhaps, not for others so;
in the shedding of this fleshly cage,
I claim not a dapple of the unknown.

Those that boast of divine insight,
in hubris claim to know god’s mind,
without a flinch of mental fight,
like sheep they keep within their kind.
Taking solace in the truth they feel,
cranial doors welded shut for fear of test,
yet at three am, at rawest core,
perhaps their truth is scanned for cracks,
but for the day, the light, remains unconfessed,
unassailable to logic’s tack.
But, like I, who will admit,
they have not jot or tittle, spot or spittle
of what lies beyond this life or what we know of it.

/'/Tis true that "eye hath not seen and ear hath not heard" what God has prepared for those who love Him. I appreciate your input on such spiritual matters; it is beneficial to know that humans do not know it all when it comes to the supernatural realm. Perhaps that is where we Judeo-Christians lose it when we try to explain why we put our faith in One that is unseen: we portray our version of God, not necessarily the picture He would like us to paint. Thanks for posting (and yes I have the audacity to say God bless as usual lol),

Deidra covered all bases but this was a very clever write and very unique too. I/'/d like to be a fly on that wall. Then again, no!
The top of the second stanza was my favorite!

This is a keeper. A classic. A bridge that every man will one day come to cross.
We find comfort in bonding with our chosen beliefs. We embrace our God to validate and justify ourselves. To question our religious beliefs is to doubt our own essence. We would rather go to war.

Your words inspire me. Thank you for sharing.

towards the middle earth people,
who grew up poor and became
disjointed by life,

they know, they should know,
they should know if they ever did
learn.

the compass, the way to tell north from
south, the squalor and the
what they call, least path of resistance
to the bottom, the end, the last
trace from which there is this divide

oh how they wish to turn it all so
that everything will work.

how do they know. I wish they did know.
and that they actually did care enough
to know.

I actually do.

Peace!
