If need a selfless friend,
go grab a book in hand!
If you wish to succeed,
make sure a lot you read.
History, Geography, Maths,
books teach figures and facts.
A book knows but one way,
throw loneliness away.
Books are no doubt a treasure,
of knowledge, learning, pleasure.
Book bridges you and success,
ensures consistent progress.
Not when all men forsook,
loan one when has no book.

I can certainly agree that a book makes a wonderful companion. If only I had a library the size of the one seen on Downton Abbey! A truthful and enjoyable read. Blessings,

So much so that I look back at the good and bad days of my life and books made my days great and made the bad days tolerable.
