wistful longing
cooling balm of the nighttime air
wishing I could feel it all over
every inch of me
reaching all the way inside
my most tender nerves

that desperate feeling, I could connect
to more than me
something somewhere could close the distance
I`m trying to grasp a moment that
doesn`t exist yet
wishing I could close my eyes
and still see the lights

this house is the closest thing to a home
that I`ve found yet
and still I`m drawn so far away
will I ever find out I`m already
standing in the light?
will I ever already
feel it all over?

or will they keep on calling me
telling me that
I will feel like this forever?
maybe now I understand that
a body is chains
and the soul reaches out
reaches way too far

maybe some of us just don`t belong
to this world
if the body gets too damaged
we start to slip out through the cracks
and the truth is that
we were gone long before
we ever left [comments] => 2 [counter] => 41 [topic] => 32 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => SadPoetry )

What an interesting poem that could be deciphered in many ways depending on the mood of the reader.
The last stanza is very thought provoking indeed. Great poem!
