The ashen winter has made it stormy and cold I/'/ve been without a hand to hold All alone in a big ol/'/ house It/'/s been so quiet there/'/s not even a peep from a mouse The trees are dying, the barks failing off All the while people will only scoff The ozone is fine the people say, We will live another day As I sit here collecting water from the lake I think about all the mistakes I/'/ve made Putting pollution in the water and sky All I can think about is the dreadful goodbye When the water is dry and the sun don/'/t shine And there/'/s only black in this world of mine I won/'/t be able to take a breath Until my everlasting death.
