Once upon a dream in my child hood
I walked with my mother along a street
Looking toward sky in the silent night
With a twinkle in her eye she told me
"Look at the milky ways there our Lord
Sits in contemplation on his own creation!"
Then I saw a huge ethereal shape of Lord
Formed out of countless stars over the void.
* * *
Once upon a dream in my school days
Awakened to the sweet notes of birds
Among the bushes and trees of paradise
I saw heavenly damsels robed in silks
Singing and moving on a fantastic gait
Collecting fragrant flowers in their baskets
They past towards the golden gates of East
In a hurry to attend their princess Dawn.
* * *
Once upon a dream in my college days
When I was sleeping ashore of an ocean
Awoke in a dark hall of my heart cavern
As I read hieroglyphs and carved images
In a flash of lightening appeared a goddess
I saw her lovely feet dancing on a dais as
Sweet notes of lutes played on my nerves
Rhythmic beats of drums coursing in blood
In a rapture of sweet delight senses fainted
Then she told- "I am the princess of sun world
I love you; I wish to share my love with you
If you can find me among the men of world
I would offer this heavenly lotus of my love."
Stating thus flashing smiles she had shown
Me a dazzling diamond lotus of Sunbeams
Over her bosom and vanished in my dream!

My dearest friend,
I don't find this to be dark at all. I find it to be an excellent form of expression of the soul and its journey. The walk to enlightenment is never full of light, we must be brave and see the dark also, but allow the LIGHT to win. The power in the rays is evident that your journeying towards the Light, and may you find the peace you search for. You are a wise man. Allow the Light of love to guide you and the the journey not only be a part of your dreams, but an awakening to your reality. God bless dear friend, another written work of art which allows me to venture into the depths of your soul! Angel always...godspeed...joni

Your pieces, so simply, transfer me to greater levels of realisation!
“Then I saw a huge ethereal shape of Lord
Formed out of countless stars over the void
A teaching more valuable than its metaphoric significance...simply beautiful.

“When I was sleeping ashore of an ocean
Awoke in a dark hall of my heart cavern
Yet, this line I adored the most…being able to relate to the latter.

There is always a lesson to be learnt within your spiritual muses, thank you for sharing this artwork.
And do post pt-II...we are all eager to view :)
-Snow White.

its refreshing to read one of your poems that i understand easily.
i think this is my favorite from you now.
i love the way it read, though it was a tad bit too blunt at times.
i still love the story it told and the images that came to my minds eye.
beautiful. i hope to see more.

Dear Venkat Sir!

I have the great distinction of being last to find you and to comment to your splendid work.
Moreover, I am indebted t you, you had the graciousness of commenting to my poem "
"
A short Prayer"
but I never reciprocated due to the fact that bereavement theraphy took a lot of my time and I stayed away from YPDC for quite a while.
So shamefully belatedly I thank you for your comment it meant a lot to me in my grief.
I noticed also while skimming though some comments that you too have had great loss.
Lost parents, I lost all I had in the "O beautiful month of September" - a consolation for other bereaved.
Yes, we are on a pilgrimage, and pilgrims must hurt. Must hurt.
But oh! what a light at the end of the journey.
Your work is splendid, thanks for sharing it with us.now finaly I know where to go

Blessings and consolation to you dear Venkat Sir
Elizabeth Dandy.

Seeing I have missed so much -
But PROVIDENCE takes care of every detail of our lives, provided also for me, at the right time, though belatedly, to have my share in the wealth iof rarest masterpieces.

such is our quest in life and it is never ending, yet peace may come to those who seek it along the way.
This is a lovely piece. I truely hope you find what you are seeking and that it may include happiness.
I hope you continue to write, but if your journey leads you in another direction may my wishes follow you.

What beauty in your dreams. To see the creator in the heavens stars would lead me to want to attain more knowledge as I suppose it lead you on a lifetime search. I do hope you stay with us, but if your search leads to other places, I do wish you the best. You shall certainly be missed, my honorable friend.

Smiles,

    reading your work is akin to reading transcripts of waking dreams;
lucid and laced with affinity for that, which we here
in the mortal realm, can barely grasp.
brilliant metaphor.. and just as well,
    your headlong and uninterrupted composition-

very well written.. an absolute joy to read~
