That all of this
Will go away
But it is here everyday

I’m all alone
And on my own
You say that you are there
But I ask, “There is where?

You say you’re at my side
But it must all be in my mind
For it is you I do not see
It is just my shadow and me

You say not to fight it alone
But how can I not? When I’m on my own?
You say you are always there
And I repeat; “There is where?

I look all around
You are no where to be found
I call for you, but I am no fool
I know you are just trying to be cool

You say that you are my friend
But I know that in the end
You I will not see
It’ll be just my shadow and me

One is so lonely
And I am slowly
Sipping away
Every day

There is no one else
Just me and myself
You all tell lies,
Looking right into my eyes

Oh well, I’m used to being alone
And fighting it on my own
Used to not seeing any one else
Used to being by myself

Such sadness and a sense of feeling abandoned. But beautifully expressed. You captured the feeling of being alone even though you know you may not be. I loved it.

Nicely expressed emotions Sprints...A very sad, but truthful write. I really liked the third stanza.
