She walked through the forest
With a smile on her face
The animals adored her
As she went from place to place

She sung a little tune of joy
Whilst she went on her way
She wanted to go everywhere
On that faithful day

She danced throughout the waters
She skipped across the meadows
She galloped across the plains
As the animals chauffeured her
Throughout the lovely land

And then she saw the sun set
And her heart beat through her chest
The darkness was upon her
As you can already guess

The animals had left her
Their furry bodies slain across the blood-stained path
But she knew she was alone now
As she walked along this warpath

All the shadows whispered
The talked the talk of death
She wondered what they said
As she watched their icy breath

She ran throughout the forest
She to tried to find the way
But shadows had encased her
And made her go astray

She fell upon the ground
Admitting her defeat
She was lost where no one would find her
She was no longer upbeat

She wailed and screamed for hours
As the shadows took her soul
She was no longer happy
Her heart was black as coal

And as the morning light came
She shed but a single tear
For the goodness left inside her
Was made to seem unclear

She wallowed through the forests
As her days came to an end
For she knew what was lying
Just around the bend

And when she died that gloomy day
She finally realized
No matter how long she waited in vain
That the darkness in her heart would never go away

This is a good poem written with good imagery and it told a story while saying something. I liked it how it became dark and its liek she has been touched by darkness and can't become happy again. and i have felt this way before and still feel that way.
i liked this poem a lot :D
keep the poems coming, i think i am becoming a fan of yours because all your poems i can relate to.

That was BEAUTIFUL, I must say. A tiny bit strained in parts, but mostly just amazing. It was the most enchanting story I've read in a long time. Like Kortnie said, wonderful imagery. I really did feel like I was the girl in the story.
