[bodytext] => He shudders at the utterance of the sound, Of the name that completely unwound His grip on reality, And realizes the action’s beyond practicality. He closes his eyes and remembers The love he thought he had found. He can still smell the dampness of the air. The accident for which no one could prepare Had taken his love’s life And punctured his heart like a knife. Smoke had filled her lungs and fire Taken her body, replaced by ashes and despair. He hangs onto her sweet, subtle scent, The memory of their handprints in cement, All the times they had shared, and he knows no one can be compared. He mourns in the deepest of blues for The love that to him so much had meant. He turns back to see who said the name, And is standing face to face with shame. It’s the other one, Over which he has been coming undone. Her genuine smile is directed to him Sending guilt and desire he whishes to tame. Ages are lost before he knows it’s okay And she wouldn’t want him to stay this way, Living without love, A feeling one should not be void of. He knows now to go on, His longing for living life to allay.
