He was just a friend that offered methods for my pain to subside.

He showed me I could cut
Instead of going insane,
That the knife would cause
Excess feelings to drain.
I would cry to see if I was still alive
But he's the one who told me to
Wipe the tears away
To prove I could survive.
He gave me the option of taking pills
To help me sleep
At times when words dug too deep.

Mr. Suicide was the one who was there
When everyone else said they didn't care.
He didn't want to kill me,
He wanted to give me another meaning of happy.

Because in this world today
People dissintegrate others who feel
They want only to show the happy side
A uniformitarinsm of people who aren't real.

Not everything is what it seems
And when you can't hold back everything
Other than pure happiness
Mr. Suicide answers your screams.

He shows you how to live for real
He lets you know that around him,
It's alright to feel.

It's those people who get carried away
In the new feelings he brings in to play.
It's these same people that exchange
Happiness with sadness,
And in doing so, their future they profess.

Mr. Suicide is a friend
He wants you to be happy,
Not for your life to end.
It's the people who don't understand
That put him to shame,
It's the ones who take advantage
Of his sources,
That give Mr. Suicide a bad name. [comments] => 7 [counter] => 198 [topic] => 36 [informant] => xXcrossedXx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )

Funny how a reputation preceeds itself at times, isn't it? That's the thing with stereotypes and the world in general. I like how you think. This was a poem that addressed things that I believe in myself, and was quite relatable in that sense. I think i've said that for most every poem you've written, haven't I? lol, I think I've hit the point of redundancy when talking about your poems long ago, but it still needs to be said that you composed a great piece, saying so much with your verses, with an ending to boot. Excellent work!

happiness and love have bad names to those who dont feel it also. nice personifying and tone throughout this, those two things are what made this piece great. you have variety in your poems, and you use it creatively, excellent.

This was a wonderful poem, and I loved how you made him seem so helpful, when really he's not. You could have made me want him to be my friend if it weren't for preceding events. Great write Amanda. Keep it up!

Amanda, That is the name of my best friend! Unforchunatly yes ppl do make Mr. scuicide all too real and he may seem like only a bystanding friend who only gives you other methods of expressing your pain, but believe me as you get to know him better, and longer, like an man (human Being) He wants more...and more. Someday when you get to know him just a little better u may not just want to visit with him you may be comfortable enough to stay.
Dont get to close, like you quoted,
and as in my yahoo id profile my favorite saying is Nothing is what it seems, dont find that out.
Stop while your ahead! But otherwise, I hear where your comming from, beautiful beautiful, write!
