What a look at lying and seeing the moon, and what ones imagination can, fill and make the feelings do. What a dark and deep write, yet not as sad, as some are. Seems you took the choice of the better path.
Fabtabolous.!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice job---wow! Very descriptive, gave me an excellent visual...This was more of a story to me than a poem, but I loved it! Dark indeed!!

Yea!
I agree with scorp..more af a short story than a poem..
that aside..I'd say some very brutal darkness here!

this write is so decriptive..I had to read it twice
in order to absorb the whole thing.. lol
what an amazing take on darkness bro..

"he said no words though his message was clear. He’d let me return if I’d do his work – killing and maiming – to bring him more souls. He knew my answer though I remained silent."

That is darkness the world over-

great write

B

I love the details of the senses in this poem. The crackling of the leaves and the fire, the smell of the soil. The description of the demon's appearance and the shrieking laughter is what really ties in the theme of darkness in this poem. Although the moon is usually a little cliche for dark poetry, I like how it's used as the character's small triumph rather than the becon of fear and evil. Excellent work, as always.
