Although we may not know what that reason is.
Whether it is good or ill
It happens as it is meant to happen.
Even when it seems that it is not fair,
It still comes about.

In this short life we are thrown around
Like a rag doll in the wind,
Being shown things that we are never ready
To witness, yet we take them and
Learn to accept them, whether we want to
Or not. It is all we can do to cope with the pain;
To stay just high enough above the water to keep
From drowning in our sea of emotional torment.

Hope is the one idea that we never give up,
Always holding on to it for dear life
In the event that things will get better,
But when it does not and the worst happens
We begin to believe that it was all in vain.

I tell you now: keeping hope is never in vain.
It is what gives us a chance when there seems to be none.
It is our light in the ever-present darkness that
Creeps ever closer, surrounding us in its shroud of despair.

To give up hope is to die.
When we give up the one thing that keeps us alive and joyful
We become an empty shell.
We become the blackness that has surrounded us.
We give up…we surrender.

My solution is thus: hold onto it until there is nothing
Left to hold, and then hold some more.
Keep the faith; kindle the hope…
For their sake, not yours.

Good anology.......I am like yourself, things ALWAYS happen for a reason.Just do not know why and what will. To lose, yes it hurts, and have things taken make us regret..but they are done for something.
Good post.
Brew~

Bravo! Your words are true, and well-spoken. This is an excellent example of didactic poetry, none too often written these days, but worth every word.

Aurë entuluva!
