Though now you're never seen,
I've always heard "life isn't fair",
Now I know what they mean

You turned your back so long ago,
As if you had the choice,
For years your love I wouldn't know,
Nor would I hear your voice

I'd look around at all the kids
with Fathers hand in theirs,
Wondering why you kept yours hid
throughout my blooming years

Though now I'm grown I still look back
at the damage that you've done,
And now your love again I lack,

my father left my family at 2. so i cant even remember anything about him. i only know what ive been told, which amounts to his name and that he was (a few not so nice words). very good poem. you give subtle hints of who you are refering to, and then you blatantly say it for those who did not get it before, very well done.

I was blessed not to suffer this. But it seems the largest majority of children are now. it does leave them lacking in love, confidence, and many other important areas of their lives if there was not a strong adult somewhere in the family that took a strong interest. I am so sorry you had to be subject to this in your life. Blessings to you. Rita

(shakes head grimmly and offers a hand in comfort)

many sad thoughts ran through my head while reading this one. Becoming a parent is a gift no matter what the circumstances. to know you've a child and not WANT to care is mind boggling to me.

Many warm thx to you for sharing.

This is terribly sad to read Wiz...I am very close with my Dad, so I can't relate myself. I can only imagine how hard it would be for you. You expressed your pain well in this piece, straight from the heart...Nicely done, and if you don't mind me saying...I think HE should be the forgotten one...

Dearest Paul,

I know I already shared with you how touched I was at
this piece, but I am compelled to comment here. It is just
simply so very heart wrenching. Not only the sentiment of
your words, but the memories they conjure up as well.
Stunning work, hun, if only because you've managed to
evoke so much emotion from within your readers.

*heartfelt hugs*

Dearest Paul I read your work and it leaves me with such a sad & heavy heart. They never realize the pain & damage that they cause do they? I craved it and wanted so much just to hear my dad say "I Love You" just three simple words. I am left still waiting~ You had tears flood my eyes and my heart goes out to you my dear friend.
An emotional write that tugs deep at the heart strings.
much love & heartfelt hugs from ur fan/friend,
sue m
