Night sounds intensify as the day sounds fade as did the light
The moon casts an eerie glow as it shines through the gray clouds
Off in the distance you hear a baby cry ,a dog bark and the sound of a car going by
Then all seems to go silent, night has sweep in, the sandman has done his job
The little town is in the grips of sleep, dream land , fantasy veil, the land of make believe
A sleep where all things can happen just as you want it to
The world is a very different place in dream land, there is no sickness, no crime, most of all no death
All the people you knew and loved are there ,you laugh and cry with them, you hug and kiss them
All is well, all around is happiness', so different from the day world
Slowly the night gives way to the dawn, mornings light creeps in
Your dream land is starting to close out and reality is knocking on your eye lids
The sun is now out in all its glory and your blinds and curtains can not keep it at bay
Your mind is saying just a little more time, you do not want to say good by again to every one
The day wins out and you now are a wake you hear the same sound you have heard every day
Phone ringing at your neighbors , a mother calling to her children time to get up
The paper boy tossing the days paper on the step, Yep another day in the life of a small town. I live in the country near several small towns. Life is so different here than all the big cities I lived in. When I came back home to stay it was like I felt my roots again. I wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China. The people smile and know you. The young ones are still mostly polite and respectful. People care about people. It is like heaven to me.
