Two conflicting thoughts batting in my brain
You say you love me, and I say it too
But from either of us do these words appear to be true?
I’ve been alone for so many years
Hiding my sorrow face and shadowing my fears
Together at last I’m with someone I care deeply for
Someone with whom I honestly believed I could adore
And for a while things seem to be going oh so great
But through my eyes I’ve noticed these feeling dissipate
I want to love you, and I know I do
But what is true love, and do I feel it for you?
You want what I cannot give, my unconditional desire
But I’m sick of trying to make you happy, and sick of trying to conspire
I’m so confused; I don’t know what to think
So I try to sort out my feelings on paper with ink
This isn’t helping; my head is throbbing with confusion
I want out of the God forsaken bull**** illusion
I’ve tried to make you happy, and you’ve said I’ve done so
But moping around acting depressed is a funny way to express it though
What the hell am I supposed to do with this irritating situation?
Always I wait for you to smile with more and more anticipation
One minute you’re happy, the next you wish to die
A smile upon your face, then a tear in your eye
So what am I trying to say through this endless rambling?
That staying with you would leave my heart gambling
There are times when I’m happier than I’ve ever been
But then again there are times when I’m in deepest chagrin
So more I have to ponder of what to do with my life
Because all at once I want you away from me but to be my wife
How can this be? What am I to do?
How can I spend each moment in time doing this to you?
Lying and saying nothing is wrong
Skipping and dancing to our favorite song
When inside I’m scared and wish to be alone
Wanting to curl up and sleep by myself at home
But what will my life be, without you to brighten up my day?
This is why I’m speechless with nothing to say.
