But i don't understand
Your back turns
Your feet cross the doorstep
Footsteps echo down the hallway
And you're gone
I feel the familiar old pain setting in
The cold steel jaws slip around my heart
I try to cry out
But the sound doesn't escape my throat
I try to walk
But my legs falter
And i crumple to the floor
I curl up in a ball
Trying to escape the anguish
I can already feel
Eating away at my insides
Devouring, destroying
The pain is too great
I must be dying
I try to kick out
To scream
But all that comes out

I hear your words
But i don't understand
Your back turns

Woah I feel your pain, this is so real so sad, and hope all is okay...even though you may just be getting over it they may just come back into your life again but be careful, or a memory could trigger that feeling. I have been there, and still am going through this. Beautiful poem even though it's not about about beautiful thing but I totally understand and relate.
