You are looking at me, too
I avert my eyes away
Every single day
You try to make eye contact
But we didn’t sign a contract
I guess that’s my fault because now
You aren’t my friend, I don’t know how
Or even why
But you said goodbye
No… you didn’t say even that
Just walked away and probably laughed
So, now you look at me
All this I can see
When I look up, you are looking
At me, seem to be waiting
For me to make eye contact
But since we didn’t sign a contract,
I always look down
Trying not to frown
I can’t let our eyes meet
I can’t let that be
You hurt me already
Making eye contact always
Brings back the pain
And I begin to drain
When I look into your eyes
And see all of the lies

Sprints... this is such a sad poem. The pain is still there and grieving is important but you need to move on from this person. Do not limit yourself, you have a lot to bring to anyone in a relationship.
