Why is it that when I find GOD everything wants to come against me?
Why can't the devil leave me alone and let me finally be free?
I try my hardest to stay with you Lord, to walk the straight and narrow, I want so much to be free and fly like the sparrow.
Writing this I feel my chest start to ease, why is everyone so unlike you Lord, why are they so hard to please?
I am about to say that I am through and just throw up my hands, but I think it is about time for me to make one last stand.
Then with you I will walk Lord, steady and free, feeling all of the joy you bring me, and float away on your neverending sea. andiD, Don't give up! Don't give up on God and don't give up on your writing. Let God fine tune you and your writing, He will use you, I believe that. It may take some painful times, because God fine tunes us, and it is never usually painless. So just hang in there. Loved that you was able to open up and pour yourself out in this poem and even make yourself feel better, and during the poem you talked yourself into not GIVING UP, that is the most inportant thing. get some spiritual poetry books and try to do some reading. It might help your relationship with God, and maybe even your writing skills. they are good now, BUT EVERYONE has room for improvement. (RIGHT?) I know I do, I have many books I checked out of the library on poems so I could read up on some in hopes it will help.
Good luck, and God bless you,
Tammi ( keep on writing )

Lay it all down, lay it all down, lay it all down...
for the heart of heaven...

Theres a mountain burning in the sky... from the heart of heaven. Tune your ear to Gods holy cry... from the heart of heaven. Without the fire well never fly... to the heart of heaven.

The path may be narrow, but His grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness. He is the Way, the Truth, the Life. Rest assured, He loves you with an everlasting love. So lay it all down, for the heart of heaven... Peace be with you!
In Christ,
Joshua
