Array ( [sid] => 9825 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Rest Me In The Sea [time] => 2003-01-05 23:20:00 [hometext] => This was written on January 3, 2003. I would love your comments, or advice on this. Thank you. :) [bodytext] => And the sky's purple hands
swirl down to comfort her soul,
as her body lays lifeless
along the sea's calming shore.
Like an orchestra harmonizing
a fast-tempoed song,
the waves crash against the cold rocks
that appear adjacent to the being
that was once called by my name...
Look closely:
Can you still see into her cold, dead eyes?
Recognize efficiently:
You may still be able to read her story.
It was the pain from the past
carried deep within her soul
that led her to the sea that night.
The soreness in her limbs
that her father's fists brought her,
the tissues on the bedroom floor
hosted by her mother's tears,
are the causes of the stinging wounds
scattered across her body.
Sadly, she couldn't hold on--
she couldn't strive to be what
she was told she already was.
The precious necklace clutched
close to her heart, shone brightly
as she stepped towards the sea.
She would not be alone that night.

"Let the waves crash against
my body, O Goddess.
Let my wounds burn and ache
from the salty water.
Take my soul and fill me with death.
I would rather be sinking
into the pits of your ocean
to stay forever with you
O gracious Goddess.
Let your beauty surrender me,
and rest me in the sea."

And the sky's purple hands
swirl down to lift her soul
as her corpse lays lifeless
along the sea's calming shore. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 208 [topic] => 36 [informant] => dragonsmist [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Suicide )
