(the force we exert on
the people,
the earth
filled with things
our opinions, decisions
can have a weight on;
to impact the world of color,
sound)
instead we worship the dead
leaves that fall on the ground
in autumn, shriveled and brown
clinging to the frigid wind
we will always try to fly,
weightless.
(but we have no control over our own destiny)
our flight is short,
and fatal
the soaring and singing, it always ends
with the crinkling sound of leaves
underneath feet that fade them into the ground.
