But I'm choking on dreaming,
While trying to hold in the tears;
I'm speaking in riddles,
But no one is listening,
As I tell everybody my fears.

I know I can speak,
But the words are just nonsense,
Swirling around in my mind,
I'm talking in code words,
But the key is still missing,
It's getting much harder to find.

I'm speaking in dreams,
But no one can hear me,
Though it sounds to me like a scream,
I'm missing the meaning,
Of beauty in feeling;
The answers just seem too extreme.

But I'm sighing in daylight,
In half tones of morning,
Where dreams break, forming the day,
And I'm dancing in knowing,
That nothing is certain,
Except that I'm here today.

The fears are still wanting,
Calling in terror,
To my dance between darkness and bright,
I'll let them stay screaming,
I'll carry on dreaming,
It's time that I took up the fight.

I know I can breathe,
But I'm lost in the dreaming,
Of nightmares and pleasures and peace,
I'll carry on speaking,
Till you know what I'm thinking,
The truth will grant me my release. [comments] => 16 [counter] => 269 [topic] => 48 [informant] => lostinmyself [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 53 [ratings] => 11 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Wow Philly

I'm sorry you feel like you're being strangled and suffocated by your dreams, but I'm glad you still find joy in having them... *hoping I interpereted this correctly*

I think it was wonderful though, it seemed to flow just perfectly as I read it :D

Love ya,
~Kiela~

Wow!!! What an emotional write. I think i know what you meant from suffocation on your dreams. I have felt like that before.

There's nothing more to say really. This was just well expressed and well writen.

A powerful write. Sometimes the boundaries between dream and nightmare are obscure. I guess reality is reflected in our dreams....are our dreams reflected in our reality?...i'm not sure...

This is an impressive write

This poem has a definite flow, which goes well with the pull of the emotion. I think I've felt this way before, and been wearied and confused thereby. But I'm sure it doesn't last forever. Take care, my good friend.

Your poetry becomes more intriguing every time I pop in here. This held me right up until the end where the crescendo lay waiting. Marvelous. I had one question...did you mean morning or mourning in the third from last stanza? I couldn't help but wonder.
