It seems the more I try to grab towards the illusion I allow it to shatter because of my own stupidity! [bodytext] => ------________-------------

Hammers of the Dark the shadow dancers,
And the voices of the night,
All spin in a graceless cavortation of pain.
Do dreams have dreams of reality?

Do shadows wonder what sunlight feels like?
Do breezes ever try to stand still?
Dim.
Grey.
Cold.

The near future is boring.
The far future seems
so distant.

As though in shock,
my arm claws at the air
as I snap from my slumber
Was that but a dream?

How could it be?
I can still taste her lips.
the faint web of hair trapping my fingers and hands.
A pulse against mine,

I can feel her neck on my cheek.
Her fingers run laps
up and down my spine.
later,

I almost sleep on her lap,
with her cradling my head,
whispering
later still,

we trade while we speak of moments
we still want. Ones we still need.
the topics shift to things infinitive,
and other things eternal

she shifts, and tips a glass.
it takes advantage, and takes flight,
diving off the coffee table.

I try to grasp it.
I try hard to grasp it.
I fail, and it breaks,
shattering the illusion.

The illusion is fading
I need to grasp her
and keep her in my life
