It's more than a promise,
It's more than a prayer.
It's more than a dream,
That I wish to come true.

But no matter what I do,
It's not good enough for you.
I've given you all I could,
But it's never understood.

It's the loneliness I feel,
I try and pretend it's not real.
You make that impossible,
You've turned unreliable.

I wish you still had your love,
It made me feel like a dove.
But now that's gone away,

If I had wings of an eagle,
I'd give them to you to fly.
If I had your favorite toy,
I'd give it to you to enjoy.

wow, I know that feeling. Like you'd have given everything and it never would have been good enough. That's a great poem. Very real. I will give you 5 stars! whoo hoo.

Perhaps it's time to stop giving.sometimes you can give to much and you can get taken for granted.Unfortunately some people don't realise what they have got and the best thing to do is walk away

I really like this poem. Especially the first 2 stanzas, but the rest too.
