It's the trust laddar.

And we keep climbing
For the love we will earn.

It seems to take someone forever to get up
Until they trip and fall.
It is then that you realise
You'd already given them your all.

And pain circulates through you
As the laddar grows.
And the distance bewteen the two of you
Grows longer until God only knows.

They have to start all over
And climb that long long way.

Until you see one too many fall
And you begin to hold no hope at all.

It's then that loss holds you back,
It tricks you in to thinking
Trust is what you lack.

And so your laddar grows and grows
To the point where only a miracle
Can make it to the top.

And knowing this makes your heart drop
And tears slide down your face.

If no one makes it to the top,
Your heart is just a home, to an empty space. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 206 [topic] => 21 [informant] => xXcrossedXx [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 3 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Oh my goodness, this was an excellent poem! I love the metaphor you've used here...I'm a sucker for metaphors. The physics to the whole idea was also well thought out and there was a level of ingenuity here that really made it stick out like a sore thumb above all else I've read from you. I think this is by far my favorite of yours, with the ideas, emotions, metaphors, rhyme scheme, it was all so skillfully done. Amazing
