Inhales the North’s cruel winter air
It is not too late

Once she reaches the bridge she knows it’s time
She takes off her worn cotton gloves
And catches the bitter winds with both hands
Hoping somehow to be able to grasp nothingness
Yet be able to grasp something, to hold her back

She climbs up the cement railing
Looks around to see anybody watching
No one is around
As she stands straight
Her spine aligned
Her knees began to shake

This is something she has been thinking about
Now it’s her chance
Makes her own last part
To her own dramatic play

The bitter winds comes strongly
She looses her balance
She falls backward
Landing on the cold pavement
Her own actions set in her mind
She frantically runs back home
Runs down the steep hill

The cruel winter
Is rather kind

Hey Honeyblood, i really enjoyed your poem. It had a nice short story to it. It is in it's own right quite appreciable and i enjoyed the ending rather well.

Take a look at my latest work, 'Don't Worry' by Frankcube.

Honeyblood,

This deserves a lot more reads. A neat little story of 2nd chances encapsulated within an unpretentious and sometimes beautiful poem. And you wrote it.
