Mary, Too Concerned

She's lately worried about me,
That I'm leaving her behind,
Like a child's toy, grown out of,
Never again to find.
I'm only leaving her at school,
But she won't leave my thought.
How could I ever forget
The only good thing I've got?
She doesn't seem to recognize
That she's my entire life.
It still remains my primary goal
To make this girl my wife.
I'm sure I'll out grow her one day,
And she'll feel all alone.
But that will only take until
They lay me 'neath a stone.
My girlfriend's not a teddy bear,
She's not just a child's toy.
If I grow out of her in life,
I'm a very stupid boy.
She thinks I'm growing out of her
This she continues to say.
All I hope that I can do,
Is grow INTO her one day.
